The long way round to a better coating.

Our developers have been working in coating science since 2012. We had coatings that outperformed the competition at the time. Then ceramic coatings and stronger sealants arrived, and staying ahead meant being much better rather than slightly better.

So we started again. A completely new direction, and a long search for the materials to build a new coating system out of. In 2016 that work produced the first ICON Rocklear prototype.

Field testing was commissioned immediately, on more than 100 vehicles, in one of the most climate varied places on earth. Temperatures there run from -58°C to 45°C, and the roads throw gravel, ice, sleet, heavy rain and intense UV at a finish all year.

Result ICON Rocklear protected in those conditions without a single failure. Accelerated lab testing followed and confirmed what the field had already shown.

Ontario and British Columbia

NET / ON-BC

How the Ontario network works.

ICON Rocklear Ontario holds the master licence for Ontario and British Columbia. Every certified shop in those provinces works to one standard, and the same team stands behind all of them.

Nine shops across Ontario are open to customers today. Each one is trained and certified on the coating before it is allowed to apply it, and certified again as the formulation moves on. That is how the finish stays the same wherever you book it.

Behind the shops sits the Ontario team: technical support, warranty administration, and the people who answer when you have a question years after the install.

Who runs it.

Marcus Miller owns Quality Film Solutions in Milton, and he holds the ICON Rocklear master licence for Ontario and British Columbia. His shop is the house shop, where every process is put through a real working bay before it goes out to the network.

Marcus has been in paint protection for more than a decade and has grown ICON Ontario from a single certified installer to the network it is today. If you run a shop and want to know how carrying ICON works, that conversation starts in Ontario.

Trained and certified

Every technician goes through ICON training before a shop is allowed to apply the coating, and goes through it again when the formulation moves on.

STD-01

One controlled process

Paint preparation and application is a seven part process, carried out in a contaminant, temperature and humidity controlled environment. That control is what makes it last.

STD-02

15-year automotive warranty and seven years on marine gelcoat, plus lifetime workmanship from the shop that applied it, anywhere in the world.
