ICON Rocklear is guaranteed against failure of the coating itself, on every unit applied by a trained technician in a licensed facility.

In short Automotive paint is covered for 15 years. Marine gelcoat for seven. Your installer warranties their own workmanship for life, and that cover travels with you anywhere in the world.

What is covered

WTY / SCHEDULE A

The guarantee covers failure of the coating: bond failure, premature fading, peeling, cracking and yellowing. Where the coating fails, the affected panels are re-coated.

Painted exterior surfaces on cars, motorcycles and painted steel. Delamination, peeling and premature fading caused by product failure.

Marine gelcoat

Gelcoated boats, fibreglass vehicles, bikes and fibreglass parts, freshwater or salt, applied by a certified marine installer.

Installer workmanship

Every ICON Rocklear installer warranties their own work for life, and that cover travels with the owner anywhere in the world.

Inspection

One inspection, booked within 18 months of the application, keeps the guarantee active. There are no yearly re-coats to buy.

What has to be true for the cover to hold.

Three conditions, all of them settled at the point of sale and install, plus one thing the owner has to do inside the first eighteen months.

  • The coating was sold by an authorized ICON Rocklear dealer, licensee or partner.
  • The paint or gelcoat was in good condition and suitable for application, and the coating was applied only to road units and gelcoat.
  • The work was carried out by a certified technician in a certified facility.
Required The coating must be inspected within 18 months of application. Booking that inspection is the owner's responsibility, along with whatever the installing shop charges for it, and a copy of the report goes to ICON Rocklear head office. Miss it and the guarantee ends.

What is not covered

WTY / EXCLUSIONS

The guarantee covers the coating. It does not cover damage done to the vehicle by the road, by an accident, or by chemicals and washes that would strip any finish.

Damage not covered

  • Stone chips
  • Collision
  • Fire
  • Wilful damage
  • Negligent or unlawful behaviour
  • Spinning brush, handheld and automatic car washes
  • Repainted or repaired panels
  • Accessories fitted after application
  • Contact with acid, heavy chemicals, fuels, bleach, paint, inks, dyes, oil, corrosive materials, or anything else harmful to the coating
  • Dust particles and dirt debris

Surfaces not coated

  • Vinyl trim
  • Glass
  • Chrome
  • Headlamps and covers
  • Aluminium and metal parts
  • Rubber parts

The coating is guaranteed on paint and on gelcoat. Anything else on the unit is outside it.

WTY-E2

Tell your installer if

  • Paint, body work or gelcoat repair was carried out on the unit within sixty days of the application.
  • Paint sealants, protective coatings or any other product have already been applied to the unit.

New units are exempt unless one of these applies. Either way, say so before the booking: both change how the surface is prepared.

ICON Rocklear Inc. is not responsible for flaws, factory defects, deficiencies or warranties in the treated materials, their installation or their manufacture, and is not liable for services or repairs covered by a repairer's guarantee, a manufacturer's warranty or an insurance policy. Under this agreement ICON Rocklear Inc. is not responsible for incidental, direct, indirect, consequential or special damages.

Stone chips Stone chip damage is not covered by the coating guarantee. ICON Rocklear was impact tested to ASTM D2794 at 120 in/lbs, so it takes far more of a hit than a thin coating will, but paint protection film is still the specialist product for chips and it can be applied on top.

How to make a claim.

CLM-01

Take it back to the shop

Bring the unit to the licensed facility where ICON Rocklear was applied. Claims run through the installing shop, not directly with the owner.

CLM-02

The shop opens the claim

The facility contacts ICON Rocklear head office and attaches a copy of a new inspection report for the unit.

CLM-03

A warranty expert inspects

A certified warranty expert inspects the unit before any authorization is given.

CLM-04

The failed panels are re-coated

The guarantee is honoured by re-applying ICON Rocklear to the panels that failed.

All applicable fees and taxes on the original application must have been paid

Keep your cover active.

One inspection within 18 months of the install is all the guarantee asks for. Your installing shop books it and sends the report to head office.
